It is with great sadness and a palpable sense of shock that we share the news that the Church House Director, James Edgedale, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, 24th May.
Church House CEO, Jeremy Wharton, said, “This is incredibly sad news, and our first thoughts are with James’s family. An ebullient figure and close friend, James will be greatly missed by all at Church House. His contribution to our business has been significant, and his expertise has helped many hundreds of private client investors during a long and distinguished career”.
James joined the business in 2022, and in his short but valuable time with us, he spearheaded the launch of our Bespoke Portfolio Service. Before joining Church House, James was chairman of JM Finn, where he played a pivotal role in the firm's growth and was well known to us as a supporter of our funds. He successfully developed our new service, working closely with his ex-colleague, Cranley MacFarlane, who joined us shortly after James.
A respected and high-achieving industry figure, James will be a significant loss to the world of investment management, which he loved so much.
James leaves behind a wife and three children, and everyone at Church House is thinking of them at this most difficult time and sending heartfelt condolences.
